Paul Wyrwoll is the Mekong Basin Chair of the FE2W Network. He was formerly the General Manager overseeing the operations of the FE2W Network’s Secretariat and the implementation of the Management Committee’s work programme.
Paul is an environmental and resource economist at the Australian National University. Prior to beginning his PhD, he worked with the International Centre for Environmental Management, Hanoi on water, energy, and food security issues in the Lower Mekong Basin. He has also worked in groundwater management in the minerals industry.
The main focus of his current research is the integration of environmental water flows into hydropower operations. Paul uses economic theory and modelling to evaluate policy instruments that seek to balance the social, economic and environmental trade-offs of hydropower dam operations under climate variability.
