In February 2018, the results of the field pilot of the Risks and Options Assessment for Decision-Making (ROAD) process were published in the journal Earth’s Future. The article “Decision-Making for Systemic Water Risk: Insights from a participatory risk assessment process in Vietnam” shows how the ROAD process was used to inform water planning in Don Duong district, Lam Dong province. Insights are provided on how to support resilient decision‐making, including the transfer of knowledge across administrative levels, identification of feedback effects, and the effective implementation of risk assessment processes.
The open-access article can be viewed and downloaded free of charge from the Earth’s Future website. The results from the project have been incorporated into subsequent applications of ROAD and will inform a revised version of the Guide to ROAD process. The authors of the journal article are: Paul Wyrwoll, Quentin Grafton, Katherine Daniell, Hoang Long Chu, Do Nam Thang (The Australian National University), Claudia Ringler (International Food Policy Research Institute), Le Ha Thi Lien, Dang Kim Khoi, Nguyen Do Anh Tuan (Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam).
